We pulled on our boots and came together for one of our favorite traditions — the Stratus Stampede BBQ. With great food, even better company, and a whole lot of laughs, it was a chance to connect, celebrate, and show appreciation for the amazing people who make Stratus what it is.

Meet Steve McLeod, Electrical Estimator at Stratus. Steve started with us nearly eight years ago as a journeyman electrician in the field and has steadily worked his way through roles as lead hand and foreman before stepping into the estimating team. Today, he’s responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates — making sure materials, labour, and timelines are accounted for before a project even begins. He works closely with project managers and field teams to ensure everything is set up for a smooth start. Moving from fieldwork to the office was a shift, but one that’s helped him build a broader understanding of how projects come together. He sees real value in the collaborative side of the job and identifies most with the Stratus belief that “There is no Stratus without ‘us’.”
Outside of work, Steve has a range of interests — from paintball, which he played competitively for over a decade (including three years professionally), to working on cars and playing golf. What he enjoys most about his current role is being involved early in the planning process and using his field experience to help shape how projects are scoped and priced. It’s a role that demands both accuracy and practical insight — and it’s one where Steve’s background adds real value.
We are so lucky to have Steve in the office, and we look forward to all the ways he’ll continue contributing to our projects, team growth, and future success.
Our team recently wrapped up a key phase of expansion at a SAGD facility in Northern Alberta. This job was part of a larger pad-add program, focused on boosting thermal production through modular, efficient well pad construction.
Partnering with one of our Alberta-based clients on meaningful work like this is always a privilege. Big kudos to our team for delivering quality results with precision, safety, and a can-do attitude — proud of how it all came together.

It’s about turning grief into hope — and building safer workplaces for everyone. Together, we raised $1,800 — but more than that, we shared meaningful steps and read powerful stories along the path. Each one reminded us why safety is at the heart of everything we do. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who showed up, donated, and supported this cause.
